This weeks planner pages use The Reject Shops Sunshine collection. I believe this collection came out last year but I didn’t buy it til early this year. We had had a lot of hot sunny weather so I chose Sunshine, now it won’t stop raining!
As you an see I cut the bus in half. Don’t be afraid to cut your embellishments to make them fit your space! I really liked the bus but it was too big to fit on one day and leave enough room to write. Cutting it in half let me keep the space needed. Not only did I use colourful washi for the borders but I also used washi for my checkboxes this week. Do you have washi you could use like this?
I am seriously thinking about making a separate channel for planner related things. That way the crafty peeps don’t get spammed by my planner stuff and vice versa. Go create some arty crafty alchemy yourselves. Hope you enjoyed this weeks planning.

Today I am sharing with you the August 2018 Scrawlrbox. This is my first Scrawlrbox Challenge! Wow I made it out the other side lol… Scrawlrbox is a nice affordable subscription box based in the UK that ships worldwide.
I decided to paint a stained glass window with a cross turning into a sword for this months False Prayer challenge. I added three gems to represent the Holy Trinity (forgot to mention that in the video).
The waterbrush was a total nightmare to work with. Mine either was dry as a bone or released way too much water, there was no middle ground. Wasn’t fussed on the botanical paper included in the box for use with the Inktense paint palette either. I think I will try it out with some regular watercolours and see how it works. My pencil feathered a lot where it was applied heaily though I didn’t get this problem in my sketchbook…
Overall I really liked the new Inktense palette and the addition of seven new colours to the range. Hopefully they bring them out in pencil and block form. I already own the complete set of pencils and a small tin of blocks so am familiar with the medium. Next time I use them though I will be using a proper brush!
The Faber-Castell Graphite Aquarelle was a nice pencil to work with, just not on the included Botanical 50% cotton paper. All in all as someone who cannot draw very well I think I did ok for the August 2018 Scrawlrbox challenge. For this weeks planner layout I used the Kaisercraft Island Escape paper pad. I originally bought the large Escape and the small Island escape pads for a project but no longer need them for it… Because I wanted to give you a flip through I also decided why not make a planner layout too. You can see a previous layout here.
If you haven’t noticed I really enjoy using matching elements from a range to do my planner layouts as it makes it nice and quick. I can also use the same range several times and get a completely different look. Quick and easy is my thing these days as I have been super busy with assignments and things I don’t usually do.
There are two downsides to the Island Escape collection for me. Firstly the large amount of woodgrain papers in the Escape 12″ pad. 14 of the 36 sheets are wood grain, overone third. Secondly most of the Island Escape Collectables are quite large so not great for planners and cards. They are more geared towards scrapbooking I think. I may have been shopping again… The Reject Shop has a nice tropical themed new paper craft range called Full Bloom and I happened to snag a set. What’s a girl to do but to put it straight to good use? This one was a bit out of my comfort zone with bright colours and a colour I wouldn’t normally use.
The new Full Bloom paper kit has stickers, stamps with a really cute Sloth, journaling cards, diecuts and of the paper pad. I went with the Cockatoos this time instead of the Sloth, maybe next time! The Reject Shop ranges are great value, you get so much for a fraction of the cost of designer brands.
I enjoy having a full range of products because it makes pulling together cards and layouts quick and easy. The only thing I possibly need to add is a stamped sentiment if there isn’t one I want to use in the set or washi tape. The Full Bloom kit is a nice vibrant collection. Today I am sharing with you a Random Act of Kindness from a lovely lady called Kylie. Her generosity totally blows me away! There are so many wonderful things in here, some that lead me to want to make a canvas with them.
My favourite though is the Whiff of Joy Puff Heart Dragon. Can’t wait to colour him! There were flourishes and butterflies and pretty Prima flowers 🙂 I am a super lucky woman! Also in the package was bling, twine, stamps and lace. Lot’s of things from Stamps of Life too.

For the small gifts week I added all the lots of the things I made in the previous weeks as well as some extra lil bits to a cute little box the tutorial for which you can find here.

For this months LaLa Land Hedgehog Hollow Box I went all out! This week making a total of three projects and matching them to last weeks box project. You can get your own Hedgehog Hollow box here.
Using the Marvy Uchida watercolour pencils that were sent to regular subscribers, I coloured three hedgehogs. I used mostly the brown and black pencils, using the black to darken the brown tone . To carry through the British theme through to the hedgehogs I added some red and the darker blue to the hedgehogs accessories.
I worked on my card and canvas at the same time, I applied Distress Oxide inks the same way I had for the box. I used Antique Linen, Walnut Stain and Black Soot. Wide washi tape was added to the bottom of both pieces to I could tie them in with the box too.
Next I used the LDRS Raven hybrid ink to stamp the images and sentiments. The stamps I used were Hedgehog Hollows Global Love and Sending Hedgehugs and Looking Sharp from LaLa Land Crafts. Again I used the same images of Big Ben, the bus and taxi to tie back to the box.
For the card and canvas I used foam tape behind the hedgehogs and sentiments. I turned the sentiments into banners by cutting a fish tail at one end. Under the hedgehogs little feet I used Kool Tak clear foam tape.
The envelope was the easiest piece to make as all I did was add the washi at the bottom and the third hedgehog with glue. I really hope you enjoyed this months projects using the LaLa Land Hedgehog Hollow Box. Go create some arty crafty alchemy yourselves and I’ll see you all later!
Today I am sharing with you the August 2018 LaLa Land Crafts Hedgehog Hollow Box and a Project. It’s not a card this time, I’m branching out with a decorated box. 😃 You can see one of my previous Hedgehog Hollow projects here.
Sometimes I start a project with a clear idea of that I want to make. Today I definitely had some inkling that fully formed as I went along. I knew I wanted to use the washi and the Lve stamps with the hearts. The rest was just going with the flow and seeing what happened…
The box die is the Brutus Monroe Gable box die and I added colour to it with makeup brushes and Distress Oxides. I used Antique Linen and Walnut Stain with some Black Soot around the edges. The stamping was done with LDRS hybrid ink in Raven.
All three stamp sets in the box got a workout. I used the Global Love set for the boxes short sides then added washi the long sides. The Hedgehog and Time for Tea were from the LaLa Land Looking Sharp stamp set and also the bus, Big Ben and the cab too. Lastly I used the Sending Hedgehugs set to stamp the sentiment on the tag hanging from the box.
The hedgehog I coloured with the Marvy Uchida watercolour pencils regular subscribers got. There seems to be quite a lot of pigment in these pencils and I want to play with them some more. Blending pencils together gave me an endless amount of colours though I didn’t need many.
