Hedgehog Hollow Card Using All Four Boxes

Hello fellow Alchemists,

Today I am making a Hedgehog Hollow Card Using All Four Boxes. I did not start out by planning it this way but as I was going through the boxes it organically happened. I did cut a lot of the footage of me flipping through the boxes and choosing papers to save time lol. Luckily all the flowers were already cut out so that saved me a tonne  of time!

Knowing I was going to use the Hedgehog Hollow Pocket stamps and dies I planned accordingly, finding two papers that looked good together. Hunting through my as yet unsorted ink pad swatches I found a colour that closely matched the papers. At first I was concerned the Milled Lavender Distress ink was too pale. The Tim Holtz stamp platform helped me get around this by allowing me to repeatedly stamp the images on top of themselves, building up the colour.

I die cut the Sweet word die three times on white cardstock backed with Crafts 4 U wide double sided adhesive tape.  Layering them up and covering them with Milled Lavender and clear Wink of Stella. The stamped and cut pocket was adhered with foam tape to raise it up.

After quickly shaping a bunch of the precut Lawn Fawn Spring Sprig flowers I adhered them with Helmar glue. After sticking the layered up sweet to the pocket I added some more flowers. Then I added more bling to a card than I ever have before!

Here  are the cards I helped my little friend make.

A little crooked but not bad for a 4 year old. The next one uses chipboard from a previous haul that you can get here.

What did you think of my Hedgehog Hollow Card Using All Four Boxes? It didn’t go quite the way it was envisioned, card making is like that though… Hope you are all creating some arty crafty alchemy of your own. See you next time 🙂

Winners and a Hedgehog Hollow, Waffle Flower and Pretty Pink Posh May 2018 Card

Hello fellow Alchemists,

Today we find out who won the 100 Sub Party giveaway. Following on from that is a card using Hedgehog Hollow, Waffle Flower and Pretty Pink Posh . The sequins may have thrown up everywhere.

Tow cards were made before the video using the Hedgehog Hollow Sweet die. Both the positive and negative die cuts were used so I didn’t waste any of the sparkly paper. One was coloured with copics like in the video, the only difference being that R21 and R22 were used for the cheeks and ear. The white embossing was done with Hero Arts White embossing powder.

For the mouse on the negative die cut I used the Aldi Graphic Markers. They do bleed a little on Neenah though. The sentiments on this one were done with LDRS ink from the March box and then embossed with the clear embossing powder I received in the box. The background was stamped with the Waffle Flower Sweet Ice Creams using  LDRS inks from the march box and Archival inks.  I used Promarkers with detail nibs to fill in the ice creams behind sweet as I didn’t think to stamp the whole panel only the edges.

For the card in the video I used copics and added some shimmer to the ice cream with a wink of Stella shimmer brush pen. The sentiments were stamped with the Nuvo Embossing pad from the box and Hero Arts white was used again.  I used Clear Kool Tak foam tape to raise the mouse and sentiments. I added some Pretty Pink Posh sequins to finish the card. All mice were stamped with Memento ink.

Congratz to the winners of my channels first giveaway :). Hope you all enjoyed these cards (I am in two minds, I should have used plain backgrounds with the sequins) and are enjoying some arty crafty alchemy of your own. My next box has landed in Sydney so should here next week. Plus I am super excited to share some cards I make with the Super Hero Chip Melinda sent me. Ciao for now.

Hedgehog Hollow LDRS Furry Fabulous Watercolour Card

Hello fellow Alchemists,

Today I am sharing with you a Hedgehog Hollow LDRS Furry Fabulous Watercolour Card. It has taken me so long to get the video out as it has been nothing but trouble. The video almost ended up in the bin! You can see my unboxing here and my previous project here.

For this card I Stamped my Furry-Fabulous images onto Arches 300gsm 100% cotton paper with LDRS Hybrid Raven Ink. The painting was done with Winsor & Newton Artist quality watercolour paints. if you watch the video you will see I regretted that decision! There were a  bunch of different brushes used and tonnes of mistakes. We got there in the end though! One of my favourite shades of paint got used which is Cobalt Turquoise light. I also got to try Cerulean Blue and Neutral Tint for the first time :D. Well really this was actually my first time using Winsor & Newton Artist Grade, I have used Cotman many times and I can say there is a very big difference!

Colours used in my Hedgehog Hollow LDRS Furry Fabulous Watercolour Card

Sky – Cerulean Blue

Grass – Sap Green and Cobalt Green Yellow Shade. Sap Green to darken the colour mix.

Dog Bowl – Neutral Tint and Sanguine

Dog – Nose – Neutral Tint Fur – Raw Sienna, Neutral Tint, Sanguine and Gamboge Genuine, Neutral Tint to darken for each layer of fur. Dog Tag – Raw Sienna, New Gamboge and Neutral Tint.

Winnie – Skin – Sanguine, New Gamboge, Gamboge Genuine and Raw Sienna. Dress – Cobalt Turquoise Light Hair – Add Raw Sienna to dog hair mix and water a small portion down for the base. Use the unwatered down colour to start adding darker hair where needed and then add more Neutral Tint to darken the colour for each layer.

For the sentiment I used the LDRS Hybrid Raven ink from the box. Then it was mounted onto a Kmart card base (I am hoarding my Neenah from the box to stamp and colour on) with some foam tape.

Hope you are getting your own arty crafty alchemy on and that you enjoyed this card. Thank you for stopping by.

Hedgehog Hollow March 2018 LDRS Pop Up Box

Hello fellow Alchemists,

Sorry for the late post. Between my daughters science assignment, feeling fluey and computer issues I am really behind the eight ball today lol. Hope everyone else is well! Todays video features products from The Hedgehog Hollow March 2018 LDRS box (Little Darlings Rubber Stamps). You can see a project I made with the February box here.

What I thought was going to be an easy card to make turned out to be a pain in my butt haha. I had a few errors along the way, had to edit a couple out as time was getting away from me lol. There are still a couple in there though! Mostly I just kept adding tape to the wrong places lol.

The middle bars looked a little plain to me so I decided to add the straight Lawn Fawn Meadow Border to them. It was a little higher than I’d have liked but the grass added an extra element that I really liked especially as I always feel like I need to fill everything up!  Winnie, the doggy and some accessories from the stamp set Furry Fabulous out of the Hedgehog Hollow March 2018 LDRS box as well as the Flowers from the February boxes Some Bunny Lawn Fawn set were stamped with Memento ink. If you watched the video you will see why I did not use the LDRS Hybrid Ink. I used the co-ordinating dies for Furry Fabulous and Some bunny to cut my coloured pieces out.

The Copic and Promarker colours I used are:

Doggy – YR20, YR23 and Promarker O538 (Apricot) Nose – R00, R01, R02 Dog Tag – Y28.

Winnie – Skin – E000, E00, E01 Dress and Bow – BG10, BG11, BG13 Hair – V91, V93, V95.

For the flowers I used the colours above as well as – RV55, RV52, Promarker G159 (Lime Zest), YG03 and YG06

Bone – C00, C0

Hope you liked what I made with the supplies from the box. I have my thinking cap on for my next make. My new box has been sent so I best get a wriggle on lol. What’s your favourite thing from the Hedgehog Hollow boxes so far? Hope you are creating some Arty Crafty Alchemy of your own, Bye for now,

Hedgehog Hollow March 2018 LDRS Box

Hello fellow Alchemists,

Holy wow did I have to wait a long time for my Hedgehog Hollow March 2018  box. USPS must have sent it around the world or something lol. It usually takes a week and a half to get something from the states but I had to wait twice that 🙁 Anyway it’s here now and all is good! You can see what I got in my first box here.

The Hedgehog Hollow March 2018  box contains lots of goodies from Little Darlings Rubber Stamps or LDRS for short. It is excellent value for money this month for sure. We got an awesome envelope die that is big enough to hold a gift card. I got the fairy!!! The die set is called Fairy Fantasy. I still think I want the other one too though, that’s called Love Letter.

We also got not one but two six inch paper collections. Twelve sheets of each, which is half a stack. The collections we got are Sweet Pea and Pretty Perfect. Alexandra also chose four hybrid ink cubes to match our papers. The colours are La-La-Lavender, Pink Tutu, Key Lime Pie and Raven. Best of all the LDRS hybrid inks work with both watercolouring and alcohol markers 😀 This makes me a very happy girl as I do both and it’s a pain swapping ink pads all the time lol. I just need a re-inker now as of course spots don’t last as long as full sized pads.

We also got our cute lil Minnie Winnie & Furry Fabulous stamp and die set. The dies even match all the accessories for the dog and Winnie. Because I am a regular subscriber I also got some clear embossing powder. I was hoping for white but ah well lol. Finally we got Neenah Solar white and some other card stocks as well as velum to make cards with. I can’t wait to give this stuff a go.

Is there anything you like from the box? What would you make? Thanks for joining me.
