Couture Creations Glass Mat

Today I am looking at the Couture Creations Glass Mat. I tried a lot of different mediums on it and left them to dry to see how easy to clean the mat is. Grab a drink and pull up a pew and see what’s what!

The Couture Creations Glass Mat has 10 acrylic feet however I may need to glue them on as one has started sliding around already! I also think a coat of gel medium or varnish would be a good addition to the back so it’s harder to damage. Another issue is dried Distress Paint is very hard to get off without a scraper!

I ran through a bunch of mediums, Nuvo Embossing Paste, Ranger Alcohol Ink, Distress Ink, Nuvo Glacier Paste, Nuvo Glimmer Paste, Glossy Accents and Nuvo drops. They all cleaned off the glass mat easily while we. It was a little more work when they dried. Still doable though.

I made some cards with the panels I made in the video. I used some Altenew stamps and Lawn Fawn stamps. A bunch of stencils and a Kaisercraft stamp. I made twofer cards using the Wonderful stamp and die set from Crafti Potential.

Scrapbookingncraft March\April 2020 DT Project

Hello Fellow Alchemists

G’day G’day, it’s been a while lol. Lots has been going on behind the scenes! This week I am bringing you projects featuring a stencil from Melinda at Scrapbookingncraft. I even share a discount code in the video! Here is a link to a previous Halloween Collab I did with Melinda.

Melinda sent me the lovely stencil Shattered Circle to use this month so I based my project around that. My first couple of attempts didn’t quite turn out the way I hoped so I kept practicing!

with this first card I used Picked Raspberries and salty Ocean Distress inks with Nuvo Sparkle paste over the top. I used the MFT Radiating Dots stamp in the background with Spun Sugar ink.

The sentiment is chipboard also from Scrapbookingncraft covered in spun sugar oxide and wink of Stella then clear embossed three times.

There be dragons

To switch it up for the video I swapped to Squeezed Lemonade and Barn Door Distress Ink. These two didn’t quite work the way I’d hoped but they still look nice together. This time I used BoBunny glitter paste.

Both the Dragon and the Hello Friend are again chipboard from Melinda. I wished up this time and used Squeezed Lemonade and Barn Door Distress paints to colour them. To these I added three layers of clear sparkle embossing powder for that nice shiny dimensional look. The sentiment strip accross the Dragon is a Spellbinders Glimmer plate from Sentiments II.

Aldi Watercolour Brush Ink Markers and Paint Set

Hello Fellow Alchemists,

Today I am sharing with you the Aldi Watercolour Paint Set and Brush Ink markers. They were quite affordable as most Aldi art products are and worked surprisingly well. I used the Jumbo Amaryllis and Jumbo Peony to paint with the paint set and brush markers respectively. These gorgeous large flowers look absolutely wonderful watercoloured and who doesn’t love a rainbow? Behind the Amaryllis is some Nuvo gold glimmer paste and the stamp is from Lawn Fawn’s Mom + Me. Behind the peony is Inka Gold through a brick stencil.

This time I wanted to see how a proper rainbow would go with the brush markers. It turned out great and over the top I added the Hedgehog Hollows To The Moon and Back stamp with Nuvo black embossing powder. The stencils used are Tile Pattern from Kaisercraft and a Brick pattern from MFT.

DIY Specialty Cardstock

Hello Fellow Alchemists,

Today I wanted to share how I used contact to make my own specialty papers super cheaply. There is a cost breakdown at the end of the video below. I used many dies and stamps sets to make my cards so if you’re interested in cross brand card making this is the video for you!

For the first two cards I used two different Altenew sets for the sentiments and the die is from the Kaisercraft Rose stamp and die set used without stamping. Using a similar style I also made a card using the Tiger Lily Spellbinders D-Lite die. Last in this batch is a card using a Lifestyle Crafts die that I paired with some Gansai Tambi Starry Colours watercolor.

The next two cards use Kaisercraft dies again. The first is using the Circle Posy with a sentiment from the Inkadinkado Expressions set. My favourite card uses the Bouquet die with a sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Mom + Me set.

The next two cards have an ocean feel. One uses the mermaid from Kaisercraft and a spellbinders label die, the other uses a Fish from find it trading and sentiments from Kelly creates and Your Next stamp. Lastly I made a card with a balloon vellum background and sentiment dies from Crafti Potential.

Papercraft Essentials Issue 181

Today I am sharing with you Papercraft Essentials Issue 181 and making a few projects mostly with the 3D embossing folder. This is the first 3D embossing folder in my stash!

I really like this 3D embossing folders versatility from Papercraft Essentials Issue 181 because the embossed side looks like gems and the debossed side looks like honeycomb. The honeycomb side made a great backdrop to the Elizabeth Crafts Buzzin’ Around stamps and dies. With a little Wild Honey Distress Oxide and some sparkly silver vellum the cards was complete.

3D Embossing folder and Elizabeth Crafts

The next two cards I ran with the Geo theme and used Tim Holtz’ Geo Springtime Butterfly die cuts for one card, blending out some more oxides in the background. Then I used Salty Ocean and Wilted Violet as my colours of choice and Happy Mother’s Day was heat embossed in white finished this card off. The next card has a background of Candied Apple Oxide and some Poppy Crafts Hexagons. The Hedgehog Hollows Finding Your Way Heart is stamped and embossed with Glacier White Nuvo detail embossing powder. The sentiment is from Honey Bee Stamps

The last card showcases both the Geo stamps and 3D embossing folder from Papercraft Essentials Issue 181. The fox was stamped with memento, Coloured with Copics in YR21 YR24 and YR27, then fussy cut out. The vellum looked so pretty as the bee wings that I decided to use a pale blue piece as the backdrop over the 3D embossing folder. I stacked a hello die cut and stamped foxy lady on a banner to finish off the card.

I hope you enjoyed this look at Papercraft Essentials Issue 181. But my one criticism is that my embossing folder has almost split at the crease as a result of running it through the Cuttlebug a couple of times. Man’s Shirt Card feat Junes Hedgehog Hollow Box

Hello fellow alchemists,

Todays card is a Man’s Shirt Card feat Junes Hedgehog Hollow Box. There are still a couple of previous boxes on the Hedgehog Hollow website. You can see the new July box here as well as some lolly taste testing. challenging myself I stuck to items mostly from the June box. Apart from ink (there was none in this box) and buttons, I succeeded.

The brown patterned paper in the box threw me off, however I used it as the basis for the card. The paper reminds me of the 70’s lol. Turning over the top corner of the paper created a collar. After die cutting the pocket from the paper I stamped it with Sepia Archival ink using the Hedgehog Hollow Denim Pocket stamp set.

Cutting a slit in the paper from the bottom to under the collar let me add in an accent piece. Mimicking piping that matched the folded over collar using a scrap piece of the patterned paper. Hunting through my buttons I found three thought were perfect for the shirt.

After cutting the Hand Lettered Dad die from cardstock with double sided adhesive on one side three times I layered them together. Then I covered the die cut stack with the Nuvo Clear Mark Embossing Pad and sprinkled with Copper Blush embossing powder.

The skin was coloured on Neenah Solar White with Copics. The buttons are stuck down with Helmar glue after adding some brown Hampton Arts twine to them. After a battle stamping the extra sentiments from the HH Masculine sentiments I made a sentiment strip to finish the card.

Hedgehog Hollow Sunny Studios Box July 2018 and Saltwater Taffy Taste Test

Hello fellow Alchemists,

The Hedgehog Hollow Sunny Studios Box July 2018 has arrived! For all those rainbow loving beach goers out there, hold onto your hats while we see what’s inside this box! In this month’s bumper box we got spoiled with two stamps sets and two die sets. First up we have the darling Coastal Cuties stamps that can be used for pool and beach scenes. Then we have a nice long set of three Ric Rac Border dies. They are 6” or 15cm meaning you can use them on either edge of a standard size card.

Then Sunny Studios have given box subscribers a matching stamp and die set. The word rainbow is our die and we then get the Over the Rainbow stamp set to coordinate with the Rainbow Text Die. The stamp set gives many sayings to go along with the die. For e.g. you can stamp You can’t have a, use the diecut Rainbow followed by stamping without a little rain.

There was the usual 6 card bases of Neenah Solar White as well as a couple of extra pieces of cardstock to use as mounts or die cut with. The bonus item this month was a bottle of Harvest Moon Tonic Nuvo Glitter Accents. The star of the box was Rainbow Bright Paper stack. There were 12 rainbow pieces with either hearts or stars on the reverse and 12 different colours of gingham with a lined pattern on the reverse.

Hedgehog Hollow June 2018 Unboxing

Hello fellow Alchemists,

Today is the Hedgehog Hollow June 2018 Unboxing! This one is super exciting as everything was designed by Alexandra from Hedgehog Hollow. The box is themed around making projects for males. Something that can be hard to do sometimes. You can see previous unboxings here and here.

There is not one, not two but three stamp sets in the Hedgehog Hollow June 2018 box! The large Diamond Plate Background stamp as well as the Denim Pocket and Masculine Sentiments stamp sets. The Denim pocket stamp set has words for every male relative, grandfather, dad, step dad, uncle etc as well as some other sentiments as well. The masculine sentiments is chock full of assorted sentiments.

The Demin Pocket dies not only contain the die to cut the pocket out but also has three small word dies. Then we also have the large Hand Lettered (by Alexandra) Die. I love getting the word dies in the boxes as I don’t have very many big ones just a few tiny ones.

The Hedgehog Hollow June 2018 box also contained the regular 5 half sheets of Neenah Solar White and some extra pieces of coloured cardstock. There are also two pieces of patterned paper. For those with a rolling subscription we got a sneak peek at Tonics Arabian Nights collection. We received Nuvo embossing powder in Copper Blush, it’s a very nice colour.

Sorry for the lateness of the video. I was exhausted after Vivid and then something happened within my family that took precedence over getting a video out on time. I will try to be consistent but at the moment things are up in the air. Family things are definitely taking priority at this time! Thank you for your patience and understanding! Winners and a Hedgehog Hollow, Waffle Flower and Pretty Pink Posh May 2018 Card

Hello fellow Alchemists,

Today we find out who won the 100 Sub Party giveaway. Following on from that is a card using Hedgehog Hollow, Waffle Flower and Pretty Pink Posh . The sequins may have thrown up everywhere.

Tow cards were made before the video using the Hedgehog Hollow Sweet die. Both the positive and negative die cuts were used so I didn’t waste any of the sparkly paper. One was coloured with copics like in the video, the only difference being that R21 and R22 were used for the cheeks and ear. The white embossing was done with Hero Arts White embossing powder.

For the mouse on the negative die cut I used the Aldi Graphic Markers. They do bleed a little on Neenah though. The sentiments on this one were done with LDRS ink from the March box and then embossed with the clear embossing powder I received in the box. The background was stamped with the Waffle Flower Sweet Ice Creams using LDRS inks from the march box and Archival inks. I used Promarkers with detail nibs to fill in the ice creams behind sweet as I didn’t think to stamp the whole panel only the edges.

For the card in the video I used copics and added some shimmer to the ice cream with a wink of Stella shimmer brush pen. The sentiments were stamped with the Nuvo Embossing pad from the box and Hero Arts white was used again. I used Clear Kool Tak foam tape to raise the mouse and sentiments. I added some Pretty Pink Posh sequins to finish the card. All mice were stamped with Memento ink.

Congratz to the winners of my channels first giveaway :). Hope you all enjoyed these cards (I am in two minds, I should have used plain backgrounds with the sequins) and are enjoying some arty crafty alchemy of your own. Hedgehog Hollow May 2018 Waffle Flower and Pretty Pink Posh Box

Hello fellow Alchemists,

Yay, the Hedgehog Hollow May 2018 Waffle Flower and Pretty Pink Posh Box is here. I scream you scream we all scream for Ice Cream! Can you guess what’s in the box? lol. This is a box full of fun and I had just recently purchased some DCWV papers that I will be showing in future videos that are going to work perfectly with this box!

What did we get in the Hedgehog Hollow May 2018 Waffle Flower and Pretty Pink Posh Box? Mice with Ice creams in the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set and loads of ice creams and sentiments. In the Hedgehog Hollow Sweet Sentiments stamp set we have words words and more words. Being British Alexandra spelt the words in both British and American English for those of us who aren’t American :). This makes me super happy. Hopefully next year we will get a MUM set! lol

Our Pretty Pink Posh sequin mix and Tonic Nuvo Glitter marker go super well together and will even work nicely with the LDRS Tea Party ink cubes from last months box. Then we have the Sweet word die designed by Alexandra to go with our Sweet Ice Cream and Sweet Sentiments stamp sets.

Regular Subscribers also got the Tonic Nuvo Clear Mark embossing pad. I have only ever really had Versamark or Ranger so it will be good to try something new! On a side note whichever the white Ranger embossing pad is, it’s awful, turns into a pancake after a year or two or disintegrates!

What is your favourite thing from the box? I have to admit mine is the Nuvo glitter marker in Strawberry Bon Bon, is there a purple one? If there is I want it! Hope you are creating your own arty crafty alchemy! Hopefully I will be back tomorrow with an announcement!
