Kaisercraft Lady Like Cards

Today I will be sharing with you cards made with the Kaisercraft Lady Like collection. In the video below I make around 10 cards and share another 10 or so I’d made previously in a live you can watch here.

I made some paper flowers using Kaisercrafts Flora Daisy and Flora Peony dies and I also used Congrats, Thinking of You and the Posy Circle dies as well. Other dies used on the cards include Stitched Circles from Poppy Crafts and Stitched Rectangles from Paper Roses.

Posy Circle and Congrats used here

As my mojo had run away so I ended up using Google and typing in card sketches though I didn’t end up using the sketches as they were just the paper shape, an angled cut here, using some scraps up there. Two sketches unlocked my brain to make 3 or 4 other cards not based on sketches to get this video done after 3 months!

Using a wooden flourish and Nuvo Dream Drops

I tried to use some of every item that came in the collection kit. As the curios are quite heavy I only added one to the centre of a flower and I think they may be better suited to off the page projects. I painted the wooden flourishes with gesso/primer from Aldi.

More flowers made using Flora Daisy and Flora Peony

Not all the cards got photographed, 🤣 Oops! I hope you enjoyed this look at the Kaisercraft Lady Like Collection. Here is a link to cards made in a previous blog from The Reject Shop collections. Hope you’re creating your own arty crafty alchemy. Thanks for stopping by.

The Reject Shop Oh Happy Day 3

Hello Fellow Alchemists,

Oh Happy Day 3 is my final installment in the Reject Shops Oh Happy Day Saga. This one is extremely travel themed so was a challenge to make cards that were just for about travel!

The first four cards are definitely travel themed, though most could be used for other purposes, especially the New York and London ones. Two of the cards have my trusty money saving gold strips on them. I find it a cheap and easy way to add some elegance. The London birthday card also has a Poppy Crafts Double Stitched Circle die from the same gold cardstock. The gold cardstock is actually from file folders I snagged cheap from Kmart and the birthday stamp is from the Rosie’s Studio Bring Joy set.

Two travel cards two that can be generic

Three of the next set of cards again use the gold strips and again although travel items have been used I tried to make them a bit more generic. The enjoy the journey stamp is from Going Somewhere by Tim Holtz. OK a travel card lol! Nothing like a Mother’s Love is from Altenews Wild Hibiscus. The one die I used in this set is from Lawn Fawns Large Stitched rectangles and the Just Saying Hello is from their Simply Sentiments set.

Added in some different stamps to these

Less Travel Related Cards

In this next set of cards I used even more gold strips 😉. The card with the bird uses the Splendid stamp and Die set from Rosie’s Studio. I used one of the 3D butterflies with a stamp from Rosie’s Birthday Mix. The you are so from the You are so Awesome card is from Crafti Potential and the banner from MFT.

Love the bird and the 3D butterfly!

In the last set of cards I used another double stitched circle and stitched rectangle. With Comfort and Love is from Rosie’s Comfort Mix and Be Bright is from their Happy and Bright set. The birthday sentiment is again from their Bring Joy set. Again I used some more gold strips…

A little bit of a tropical theme here

I hope you enjoyed this look at Oh Happy Day 3 from The Reject Shop. You can see collection one here and collection two here. Make sure to watch the video all the way through for a surprise! Hope you’re creating your own arty crafty alchemy, thanks for stopping by.

Oh Happy Day 2 The Reject Shop

Hello Fellow Alchemists,

I shook things up a little last night and did a live unboxing of my new scan n cut and Tonight I am sharing with you the next round of Oh Happy Day Cards. I have no idea what this collection was called when it first came out but I managed to make a bunch of cards. Here is Oh Happy Day 1 if you want to refresh your memory.

I’ve grouped the cards to make it easier reading. Three of the first group first group have gold strips. Rather than using a mat of gold cardstock I use strips to make it go further. It’s also less bulky on cards! The third card uses a frame that I don’t know the brand of because I bought it used and it didn’t come with packaging. I get a lot second had to save pennies for other things… Like the Scan n Cut! The first two cards have stickers and three use lots of die cuts.

For the next four cards I used three more of those frames, any frame dies would work, and then I turned an off cut from another panel into a frame for the other one. That one uses the Tonic Mixed Edge Rectangles. The Happy Birthday is from Rosie’s Studio Bring Joy stamp set. Loads of die cuts again with the third card using one of the 3D butterflies on a Poppy Crafts double stitched circle. The third and fourth both have a sticker from the sticker pack..

Oh Happy Day Set 2

In this next set I used my least favourite piece of paper with with some more gold strips and more die cuts and stickers to make two cards. I had to use the bunny and hedgehog die cuts so made cards around those. This time instead of cutting frames I left the middles in.

This last grouping of three cards uses more bunnies because Bunnies! lol… One uses a leftover strip of patterned paper and more gold strips, another Poppy Crafts Circle with our rabbit sticker, finished off with a big bow. The next has a clover background with a Lawn Fawn stitched rectangle panel. Our bunny is surrounded by clover in a St Patrick’s day feel. Lastly I had some leftover pieces that needed to be used so I teamed them up on the cute little squirrel card. The background was again cut with the Tonic dies.

Helpful Hint

Anytime I cut pieces for cards out of basic coloured cardstock I have taken to cutting extras. Basic colours like white, black, gold silver or cream. Whatever you reach for most! I then try and keep them all together in the one basket so they are easily accessible. Gold strips I will cut a bunch in various widths at once and add them to the basket.

There is a card that didn’t make the photo’s here as it’s unfinished. If you want to see it when I find the missing piece be sure to follow me on Instagram! I hope you enjoyed these cards using Oh Happy Day 2. Let me know below your faves. Hope you’re creating your own Arty Crafty Alchemy. See you next time!

DIY Specialty Cardstock

Hello Fellow Alchemists,

Today I wanted to share how I used contact to make my own specialty papers super cheaply. There is a cost breakdown at the end of the video below. I used many dies and stamps sets to make my cards so if you’re interested in cross brand card making this is the video for you!

For the first two cards I used two different Altenew sets for the sentiments and the die is from the Kaisercraft Rose stamp and die set used without stamping. Using a similar style I also made a card using the Tiger Lily Spellbinders D-Lite die. Last in this batch is a card using a Lifestyle Crafts die that I paired with some Gansai Tambi Starry Colours watercolor.

4 CAS Cards in a similar style

The next two cards use Kaisercraft dies again. The first is using the Circle Posy with a sentiment from the Inkadinkado Expressions set. My favourite card uses the Bouquet die with a sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Mom + Me set.

The rainbow card is my fave

The next two cards have an ocean feel. One uses the mermaid from Kaisercraft and a spellbinders label die, the other uses a Fish from find it trading and sentiments from Kelly creates and Your Next stamp. Lastly I made a card with a balloon vellum background and sentiment dies from Crafti Potential.

I hope you enjoyed these cards using the DIY Specialty Paper, let me know your favourite below. I hope you’re creating your own arty crafty alchemy. Bye for now.

Papercraft Essentials Issue 181

Today I am sharing with you Papercraft Essentials Issue 181 and making a few projects mostly with the 3D embossing folder. This is the first 3D embossing folder in my stash!

I really like this 3D embossing folders versatility from Papercraft Essentials Issue 181 because the embossed side looks like gems and the debossed side looks like honeycomb. The honeycomb side made a great backdrop to the Elizabeth Crafts Buzzin’ Around stamps and dies. With a little Wild Honey Distress Oxide and some sparkly silver vellum the cards was complete.

3D Embossing folder and Elizabeth Crafts

The next two cards I ran with the Geo theme and used Tim Holtz’ Geo Springtime Butterfly die cuts for one card, blending out some more oxides in the background. Then I used Salty Ocean and Wilted Violet as my colours of choice and Happy Mother’s Day was heat embossed in white finished this card off. The next card has a background of Candied Apple Oxide and some Poppy Crafts Hexagons. The Hedgehog Hollows Finding Your Way Heart is stamped and embossed with Glacier White Nuvo detail embossing powder. The sentiment is from Honey Bee Stamps

Geo Butterfly and Heart Cards

The last card showcases both the Geo stamps and 3D embossing folder from Papercraft Essentials Issue 181. The fox was stamped with memento, Coloured with Copics in YR21 YR24 and YR27, then fussy cut out. The vellum looked so pretty as the bee wings that I decided to use a pale blue piece as the backdrop over the 3D embossing folder. I stacked a hello die cut and stamped foxy lady on a banner to finish off the card.

Foxy Lady card

I hope you enjoyed this look at Papercraft Essentials Issue 181. But my one criticism is that my embossing folder has almost split at the crease as a result of running it through the Cuttlebug a couple of times. Some box tape should sort that out because I really want to use it more! Let me know below which is you favourite card bellow. Thanks for stopping by.

The Reject Shop Oh Happy Day 1

Hello Fellow Alchemists,

Today I am sharing with you the first of three Oh Happy Day collections from the Reject Shop. In the video I made 12 cards to showcase the first collection which is a rebranding of Pink Lemonade by the looks.

Each collection comes with 36 6″ papers, 2 of each design, 3D Butterflies, a 4 pack of sticker sheets and a packet of die cuts. There is also a 12″ pack of papers but my store sold out really quickly. Instead of the usual two of each die cut there was only one. Each of the four things I bought was $3 each.

11 Cards made with Oh Happy Day

I made 11 cards with the collection using minimal supplies from my stash. Tonic Frame dies, Poppy Crafts Double Stitched Circles and Stitched Hexagons. Rosie’s Studio Still Water stamp and die set and Birthday Mix Stamps. Honey Bee Stamps Sending You stamp set. As well as Archival inks in Jet Black and Aquamarine.

I hope you enjoyed these 11 cards using Oh Happy Day 1. Let me know below your favourite. Thanks for stopping by.
