Kaisercraft Haul With Rose Ave, Fairy Garden & Pen & Ink

Hello fellow Alchemists,

Today I am sharing with you a haul from Kaisercraft. There are planners, paper packs and lots of wood flourishes. There was one thing missing from my order and Kaisercraft has since sent it out to me. I may now own two seeing as I ordered one in my next order thinking they would just refund it haha…

I bought so much stuff! 50% off sales are dangerous! I got the large and small Seafoam planners. I am really not happy with these as the glossy paper branding strip sticks to them and leaves a mess! When I contacted them nothing was done… They just said we will pass the info along. UGH. A full review will be coming soon most likely on a new planner channel so keep your eye out. The small Lucky planner I bought as it was the only one I could see being used by a man.

I also bought some extras like the sticky notes and Belle sticker book.  I often use sticky notes for extra tasks and preplanning. The wooden shapes are really cute and I could not resist getting them. They match a lot of stuff I already own.

I got three paper packs, Rose Avenue a very pretty floral stack. Fairy Garden which I have wanted for the longest time. They don’t sell the ephemera or 6″ pads online unfortunately. Lastly I got Pen & Ink but it was a toss up between that and the Curiosity stack lol. They are both really nice vintage stacks. Don’t be surprised if Curiosity appears in the future!

What was your favourite thing I bought? I adore the paper stacks, they are just so beautiful. Hope you are creating some arty crafty alchemy yourselves. See you next time.

Reject Shops Full Bloom and 10/9 Planner Page

Hello fellow Alchemists,

I may have been shopping again… The Reject Shop has a nice tropical themed new paper craft range called Full Bloom and I happened to snag a set. What’s a girl to do but to put it straight to good use? This one was a bit out of my comfort zone with bright colours and a colour I wouldn’t normally use.

The new Full Bloom paper kit has stickers, stamps with a really cute Sloth, journaling cards, diecuts and of the paper pad. I went with the Cockatoos this time instead of the Sloth, maybe next time! The Reject Shop ranges are great value, you get so much for a fraction of the cost of designer brands.

I enjoy having a full range of products because it makes pulling together cards and layouts quick and easy. The only thing I possibly need to add  is a stamped sentiment if there isn’t one I want to use in the set or washi tape. The Full Bloom kit is a nice vibrant collection. Hope you are creating some arty crafty alchemy of your own, see you all next time.

Card and Matching Canvas feat August 2018 LaLa Land Hedgehog Hollow Box

Hello fellow Alchemists,

For this months LaLa Land Hedgehog Hollow Box I went all out! This week making a total of three projects and matching them to last weeks box project. You can get your own Hedgehog Hollow box here.

Using the Marvy Uchida watercolour pencils that were sent to regular subscribers, I coloured three hedgehogs. I used mostly the brown and black pencils, using the black to darken the brown tone . To carry through the British theme through to the hedgehogs I added some red and the darker blue to the hedgehogs accessories.

I worked on my card and canvas at the same time, I applied Distress Oxide inks the same way I had for the box. I used Antique Linen, Walnut Stain and Black Soot. Wide washi tape was added to the bottom of both pieces to I could tie them in with the box too.

Next I used the LDRS Raven hybrid ink to stamp the images and sentiments.  The stamps I used were Hedgehog Hollows Global Love and Sending Hedgehugs and Looking Sharp from LaLa Land Crafts. Again I used the same images of Big Ben, the bus and taxi to tie back to the box.

For the card and canvas I used foam tape behind the hedgehogs and sentiments. I turned the sentiments into banners by cutting a fish tail at one end. Under the hedgehogs little feet  I used Kool Tak clear foam tape.

The envelope was the easiest piece to make as all I did was add the washi at the bottom and the third hedgehog with glue. I really hope you enjoyed this months projects using the LaLa Land Hedgehog Hollow Box. Go create some arty crafty alchemy yourselves and I’ll see you all later!

August 2018 LaLa Land Crafts Hedgehog Hollow Box and Project

  • Hello fellow Alchemists,

Today I am sharing with you the August 2018 LaLa Land Crafts Hedgehog Hollow Box and a Project. It’s not  a card this time, I’m branching out with a decorated box. 😃 You can see one of my previous Hedgehog Hollow projects here.

Sometimes I start a project with a clear idea of that I want to make. Today I definitely had some inkling that fully formed as I went along. I knew I wanted to use the washi and the Lve stamps with the hearts. The rest was just going with the flow and seeing what happened…

The box die is the Brutus Monroe Gable box die and I added colour to it with makeup brushes and Distress Oxides. I used Antique Linen and Walnut Stain with some Black Soot around the edges. The stamping was done with LDRS hybrid ink in Raven.

All three stamp sets in the box got a workout. I used the Global Love set for the boxes short sides then added washi the long sides. The Hedgehog and Time for Tea were from the LaLa Land Looking Sharp stamp set and also the bus, Big Ben and the cab too. Lastly I used the Sending Hedgehugs set to stamp the sentiment on the tag hanging from the box.

The hedgehog I coloured with the Marvy Uchida watercolour pencils regular subscribers got. There seems to be quite a lot of pigment in these pencils and I want to play with them some more. Blending pencils together gave me an endless amount of colours though I didn’t need many.

I hope you enjoyed this week’s project and if you watched the video you would have heard what sparked the idea for this project. I hope you are creating some arty crafty alchemy yourself and I will see you next time. Bye for now.

How I Decorated My Planner for August 2018

Hello fellow Alchemists,

Today I am sharing how I decorated my planner for the whole month of August. It was a bit of a marathon! Keep reading to see what I used.

The Reject Shops amazing paper pads and ephemera packs are mostly what I used to decorate, though I did throw in a Kaisercraft at the end. Unfortunately I don’t own many matching Kaisercraft pads and ephemera.

I started with my favourite pad and ephemera from The Reject Shop, the Fanciful collection. Mermaids, unicorns and fairies, swoon! All in pretty pinks and purples. I used one of each along with some other ephemera to accent the papers.

Next I used my Here & Now journal cards and ephemera as I don’t have the paper pad that matched this collection. I trimmed two journal cards down and used pieces as matting, borders and an accent piece. I also used one of the larger pieces as a replacement for paper. The ephemera pack for this collection was huge. 180 pieces! It was hard to choose what to put on the page!

Then I used the Twig & Twine Collection. Opting for the more pale orange pieces instead of the stronger peach colour. This collection even has butterflies, which is another of my favourite things! This collection has a lot of vintagey goodness 🙂 I also stamped some plain washi to match.

This next one I think is my favourite layout for the month. I used the gorgeous Carpe Diem collection.  Beautiful purples, mauves, pinks and blues. Again I cut up a journalling card in place of washi as well as some glitter tape. I had to add the gorgeous rose even though it didn’t leave me much space to write lol.

Lastly I used Golden Grove by Kaisercraft with it’s lovely golden yellows to indicate coming into spring. There was a paper with lot’s of strips I utilised as washi. I used some of the bigger pieces of ephemera for this week so did not need to use many.

Hopefully you enjoyed my month long planning lay outs. Go do some arty crafty alchemy yourselves. Catch you all later.

Aldi Graphic Markers with Swatching and Other Hauls

Hello fellow Alchemists,

In today’s video I share with you a couple of small hauls from around my town and one sent to me from Victoria :). Luckily I have made a friend who helped me out when I was in a bind by sending me the Aldi Graphic Markers.  You can check out her shop here. Unfortunately there were some issues with the delivery company. So it took a bit longer than it should have to get to me lol.

Why do I need so may clip boards? To help shoot colouring videos hopefully as you can see in this card I made. Still learning though and am thinking I may need to turn the board sideways so the angle better. Also one is for colouring on the go as I have started taking markers and stamped images with me when I go places. The stickers are just so pretty they had to come home with me.

Apparently I need a lot of cutters because I bought the mini Stanley knife set and the rotary cutter from Aldi lol. The rotary cutter is because I have 300gsm cardstock and I waste some because in order for it to fit I my paper trimmer I have to fold each sheet in half :(. Cheap washi is always good and good for happy mail I’m told :D. The mat I didn’t need but it’s a pretty blue. Purple would be even better lol.

My awesome friend Melinda sent me the Alcohol Markers so I could road test them :). So far they actually seem pretty nice. Not many blending colours but they were $1.08au a marker. There are other ways to blend like I showed in the video. In my package there were also some packets of awesome chipboard. I already have a card idea for the super hero masks :).

Hope you are getting some arty crafty alchemy on :). Bye for now.

Kmart and Reject Shop Haul March 2018

Hello fellow Alchemists,

As you can see by the title I went shopping again lol. It’s an addiction, but when you find bargains like these, what can you do? “Buy them!” By now you may have realised I like shopping haha. On a side note I did purchase these before my last shopping haul video. Due to that haul being Easter themed I decided to show it first.

What can I say about Kmart? While most of the time their prices are great a lot of their craft items can be overpriced for what you get. I miss the days when they had a larger selection of more interesting things. They do still have packs of 25 cards bases with envelopes for $3. This is what I use for most of my card bases. I’ve been managing to get to Kmart a little more frequently than I normally would so got to snag a few bargains 🙂

The envelopes for 50c were a steal! Especially seeing as they were star dream paper and there is 10 in a packet. They can be used as envelopes, cut them up for matting, use them in mini albums or die cut them, they were so cheap and I can use them for many things. The paper bags are awesome, have always wanted to make a paper bag album so that’s definitely on the cards now!

I actually walked out of the reject shop today, well yesterday when this comes out, without buying anything! They have no new stuff yet and I am good with that lol. I did go to the art shop but that’s another story … Apart from the other stuff I got I am super happy I found the Glasshouse papers to go with the other things I have from that range. I got them before I started this channel so when I go to use them I will do a quick share. The glossies I got in this video do match the Glasshouse range.

I am very excited for an arty crafty hack or two I have coming up. Hope you’re creating your own arty crafty alchemy. See you next time 🙂
